Brandi is a wife, mother, entrepreneur, and prayer warrior. Encouraging people has always been her ultimate goal. Brandi believes it is her duty to give women the motivation and inspiration that is needed to get them through those rough times, especially when they feel like giving up.
Brandi is an author of two published books, “Darkness from Within” and “The Steps I Took To Get Where I’m At.” In her latest book, “The Steps I Took To Get Where I’m At” she teaches entrepreneurs to have a faith mindset! “I want to encourage my clients that it’s never too late and you can’t ever give up!” says Brandi. Driven to give her clients the mindset, it allows them to align themselves with the person they are inspiring to be. Giving entrepreneurs the motivation to change is her purpose - to transform lives and give the push that is needed!
Brandi has overcome so many trials and tribulations in life; beginning with her and her children being homeless, involved in physical, verbal and mental abusive relationship, and so much more but yet she is still here to tell her story! Overcoming a life that was filled with obstacles, through building her relationship with God and working on the darkness within, Brandi is now a successful owner of several businesses, business mentor and coach, and helping people with development in all areas of life.
-Your trajectory is quite impressive, ranging from being a retail clothing store owner, franchise owner of a tax company, a real estate investor, and author, just to name a few. Please tell us how you manage your time and how your journey as an entrepreneur started?
When my entrepreneurship started, I was working at a call center, my kids were little, and I had no support from school. My job hours was ridiculous so I started doing income taxes with Liberty tax at the time and I was able to set my own hours in the year of 2006.
-What’s the most surprising thing you learned about yourself as an individual when you became an entrepreneur?
What I surprisingly learned about myself is my strength and courage and the love I had to help others.
-Let’s talk a bit about your books. Please give our readers a brief description of each of your books and the inspiration behind them.
My books the Darkness from within is a autobiography of me it gives my readers a bit about where I come from all of what I been through with my children from being homeless sleeping in our car living from house to house or even a hotel from being abused by my ex husband.
-Your books touch on some very sensitive topics. Why do you think it’s important to share your personal story with others?
-What is one main message you hope readers take away from your books?
What I hope readers take away from reading my books is Motivation, determination and inspiration you have to create the life you want to live in order to reach the next level of greatness.
-With all of the hats you wear, you’re also a life coach, correct? For those who may not be aware, please tell us exactly what a life coach is and does?
A life coach is a type of wellness professional who helps people make progress in their lives in order to attain greater fulfillment.
-What is your favorite part about being a life coach?
My favorite part about life coaching is helping my clients reach their goals and give them the push that is needed.
-What do you find are the most rewarding aspects of being an entrepreneur?
The most rewarding aspects of being an entrepreneur is being your own Boss and having residual income. Its the best thing ever!
Being a entrepreneur, a wife, and a mom and I also get to make time for my family. We lots of family outings!
-On a more personal note: Tell us a little about your “real” (non-business) life — family, hobbies, etc.
I’m from Detroit,Michigan. I own a tax company. I went from being a franchise owner of a tax company to now owning my own company Uptown Tax Pros. I’m a motivational speaker as well as a life coach. I own a clothing store. I have an ebook business on Amazon and I have recently publish 2 planners and a prayer journal. I wrote two books Darkness from Within and The Steps I Took to Get Where I’m at Today. I’m also a real estate investor.
People ask me how do I have all these business and make time with all these businesses. You have to hire great people. Establishing these businesses helps me create jobs in my community.
-Any advice for aspiring entrepreneurs who may be reading this interview?
Sometimes in entrepreneurship you stay so busy that you forget about your own life. You have to take time out for your self and breathe. You have to meditate your mind body and soul.
-What’s next for you? What are you working on now?
In April of 2021 my family will be moving to Houston, Texas. My next journey will be opening a logistics trucking company’s as well as a funeral home.
